Why Mark Cuban Needs to Own the Cubs

The Chicago Cubs are on the trading block, and the potential buyers are a bunch of old-stuffy business men and Mark Cuban. Most people hate Mark Cuban’s guts, especially David Stern, but I think that he is just what the MLB needs. The best thing that could happen for the MLB would be Mark Cuban drawing attention for something other than steroid usage and absolute boredom.

I’m not talking about eye exams here. I’m talking about entrepreneurial vision. Tony Hawk grew up in Carlsbad, CA- a city of golf courses and In-N-Outs. He began skating at 9 years old and at the age of 14 he turned pro. He was discovered by Dogtown skateboards (Yes, the very same “Lords of Dogtown”) and by 16 he was the world’s best vert skater. Within three years he owned two homes, one of which was a four-and-a-half-acre spread in Fallbrook,CA.
